After a session on the first perspective (managing anxiety) the group discovered a practical method for this topic. It is termed the "Direction of Intention" or "Right Intending of Deeds"
This next passage is taken from Anthony Ceresko, O.S.F.S. (Indian Journal of Spirituality, 14/4 (2001): 377-391)
Through the "right intending" of our actions, "God becomes established in (our) inner space as a constant, unbroken and all-encompassing presence."
Francis explains the purpose of this "intending" as a way for the individual to live the "devout life" and reach heaven: ... Francis focuses almost entirely on the individual and his or her growth in holiness, their advancement in prayer and in living a virtuous life. The person's attention is constantly directed to God's presence in the midst of their daily round of activities.
This intending of deeds can be done before every activity even the mundane, allowing the individual to keep their focus on God. If we are focused on God, why should we worry or be anxious, God knows what we need and our faith will lead us to His will.
A phrase that can be used for a "direction of intention"
"My God, give me your grace. I offer you all the good that I shall do in this action and all the pain and suffering to be found in it."
